         Unpin Umeda (1815-1859)

                     Samurai of the late Tokugawa period
                     He was born in Fukui in 1825.
                     His real name was Sadaaki Yabe.
                     He studied Shushigaku (Neo-Confucianism).
                     However, he was charged with this, at the time of Ansei no Taigoku
                     (suppression of extremists by the Shogunate) by the then Tairo (chief minister),
                     Naosuke II, and he became the second person to be arrested.
                     He died at 45 years old in 1859.
