Etai Yamada (1895-1994)


The priest of the Tendai sect.
The Enryakuji temple 253 superintendent priest of Kyoto.
He has served as honorary chairman of the Japan Religious Representatives Conference
and president of the All Japan Buddhist Association.
He also participated in overseas religious conferences
and devoted himself to religious activities aimed at internationalizing
Japanese Buddhism and realizing world peace.
He died in 1994 at the age of 98.
